Experienced Psychologist

Organisational Effectiveness
Is familiar with the psychologist role, also work unit and related organisation. Develops an appreciation of the total organisation, client operations and competitor's activities. Develops an understanding of services, relevant legislation, contracts and other legal policies and procedures.

Understands organisational structures and values and has an appreciation of the relevant services and their application. Understands how own services relate to the clients's activities. Understands legal requirements, applies service policies and procedures. Provides quality service in all aspects. Aware of the activities of related organisations to own clients. Utilises all internal resources to solve client problems.

Management Effectiveness
Performs tasks under guidance on a basic understanding of organisation systems. Schedules own work.

Works essentially unsupervised and is responsible for timely completion of client service plans. Prepares work schedules that are consistent with work area plans. Works effectively in a team.

Personal Effectiveness
Can work independently. Develops oral and written communication skills. Contributes to meetings at level of expertise. Communicates effectively with work unit staff, peers and clients' staff.

Communicates effectively within the organisation at all releveant levels and at professional and middle manager levels with clients. Makes basic sales and professional presentations. Makes effective use of own time to achieve plans demonstrating initiative, drive and persistence.

Client Relationships
Develops relationships with clients under guidance and is progressively responsible for meeting client requirements.

Assumes responsibility for the delivery of the right services on time. Develops a relationship of trust with clients and ensures a shared understanding of key issues between the client and the organisation is maintained. Takes reponsibility for client complaints and uses resolution process.

Marketing
Collects market data to support investigation of opportunites. Follows up and develops leads. Under direction, collects and analyses market place information. Develops presentation skills and supports more senior psychologists. Implements presentation plans for less critical clients.

Indentifies new business opportunities within assigned clients. Contributes to the development of new markets. Advises business units of opportunities and recommends sales plans. Has presentation skills to persuade at functional manager level. Assembles all the data for effective presentations to clients and suppliers. Begins multi-level presentations.

Financial
Develops understanding of work unit accounts. Collects data for credit assessment using knowledge of operating accounts.

Takes action direct or with the credit department to ensure clients pay for services supplied to the terms of sale. For new clients makes credit recommendation based on information from a wide variety of business sources.

Safety, Health, Environment

Understand basic regulatory requirements and organisation standards. Measures compliance with regulations relevant to assigned tasks. Works safely. Develops a basic knowledge of hazards in client area.

Understands the relevant requirements and standards. Can use the information system to determine the requirements and necessary standards. Understands the interaction between use of services and the impact on the clients' environment.
Experience
4 year professional degree and up to 2 years experience.

4 year degree plus 3 to 11 years postgraduate experience. Next career step is management.
